What Everybody Ought to Know About Cornflower
Cornflower has numerous applications, but it is most often used for treating the eye area. Cornflower is very powerful to treat dark circles underneath the eyes. The active substances in Cornflower prevent dark circles from forming below the eyes, and they simultaneously smooth the skin around the eye area. Due to its soothing benefits, Cornflower is used to treat facial muscles and wrinkles, and it can also relieve tired and puffy eyes. Only the blue petals are used from Cornflower, and the white-pinkish petals are removed. It is a good idea to remove them before the herb dries off. Harvesting should be done in the months of July through August, when the weather is dry, and the dew has evaporated. To treat the ailments listed above, you can use Cornflower in different ways. The Amazing Power of Aloe Vera!
While I was doing research on aloe vera, I found out that one of the greatest benefits of aloe vera is that it contains 75 different nutrients, including amino acids, calcium, magnesium, sodium, vitamins, enzymes, nitrogen, polysaccharides, and other components to make it a miracle beauty herb. Aloe vera also contains eight essential amino acids, which aren’t produced by the human body and must be taken in as a food or drink. Aloe vera has powerful antioxidant properties. Vitamins A, C, and E provide aloe vera’s antioxidant activity and neutralize free radicals. When used daily, the antioxidant benefits of aloe vera can have a huge impact on the appearance of aging in an individual, as well as their overall well-being. The extract of aloe juice will open and cleanse the pores, hydrate and tighten the skin, and easily and deeply penetrate the skin to restore the metabolism. This process will stimulate cellular regeneration and reduce inflammation and irritation. Therefore, any creams containing aloe vera are recommended to be used before sun exposure.
As always, I write about natural skin care, so I can’t pass up the amazing plant of aloe vera. I finally took a sprout of aloe vera from my friend’s mother to grow it myself. I proudly placed it on my windowsill amongst other helpful plants, and I can’t wait to pick a leaf to use for my skin care needs!
How to Make Herbal Infusion?
The day before yesterday i was telling you about amazing properties of horsetail infusion. At the same day and the day after i received some emails with two common questions “What is oil infusion” and “How it can be made”? So, here we go. Infusing a herb in oil allows extract its active fat-soluble ingredients. Infusions can be prepared by hot or cold methods. Hot infused oils are simmered, while cold infused oils are heated naturally in the sun. I personally prefer the cold method, but the hot method does work too. Cold method: Hot method:
Try Horsetail as an Amazing Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
Field horsetail is an herbaceous perennial with a hairy, tuberous rhizome (see pic.). The stems are erect, without leaves or hairs and have black-toothed sheaths with whorls of spreading, green branches. Field horsetail is normally found among the temperate climates within the Northern Hemisphere, like North America, Asia, and Europe. Most recently, I found out information about the amazing benefits of field horsetail in reducing wrinkles around the eye area. This actually was not the first time I had heard about this amazing plant, and my grandmother used to swear by it. I made a research and i found that horsetail is high in vegetable silica which has a softening and smoothing effect on the skin, as well as boosting and rejuvenating the connective tissue – the foundation of your skin and regenerating skin cells. The bio-minerals such as manganese, magnesium, iron and copper contained in this plant are necessary for collagen and elastic biosynthesis, while the organic silicon will link the produced collagen fibers and so help the rebuilding of connective tissue. I decided to test the horsetail herb, and my brave subject was a friend of my family. She is 55 years old, and she has very deep wrinkles around her eyes. I suspect that she got these wrinkles because of always lying out in the sun without sun protection, and her skin is dry, wrinkled, and the color of grilled chicken. My apologies!
Field horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is also called horsetail, bottlebrush, scouring rush, pewterwort, shave grass, and corncob plant.
