Will Differin Really Help You Get Rid Of Acne?
Furthermore, using chemical ingredients, such as many of the ingredients found in Differin, will potentially harm your health in general since all ingredients used on your skin can absorb into your bloodstream to affect your circulatory system. One of the main active chemical ingredients found in Differin is adapalene, which is used in .3% or .1% concentrations. This chemical ingredient has been proven to treat acne, but it is very harsh and irritating to the skin. In fact, it cannot be used if you are pregnant, nursing, or have very sensitive skin. Overall, it offers very little results in clearing up acne, even after being used for 8 to 12 weeks. Differin also uses edatate disodium as a chemical ingredient, which is normally excreted from the body in urine. This is an ingredient used to treat hypercalcemia in cases of emergency, control ventricular arrhythmias, and has also been linked to digitalis toxicity. In addition, Differin contains the chemical ingredient propylene glycol, which is a form of antifreeze. This ingredient can upset the stomach when ingested, and it can cause serious skin irritation when used on the complexion. This is actually a common preservative ingredient, but it can be likened to drinking a small amount of anti-freeze regularly. Lastly, Differin contains sodium hydroxide, which has a caustic metallic base. It is often used to dissolve solvents in water, and it contains strong chemical ingredients. In fact, it can regularly be found in detergents and soaps on the market. This ingredient is used to neutralize many chemical reactions, and it is present in biodiesel fuel, methamphetamines, paper making ingredients, oil drilling, paint strippers, and tissue digestion. However, it is not recommended to use this harmful ingredient to treat acne on the surface of the skin. Overall, I began using Differin approximately one year ago, before I started this blog. At that time, I was definitely struggling with acne, and I experienced constant itching, dryness, redness, and peeling. After the first week of trying Differin, my breakouts increased even more all over my complexion, and my condition was much worse in the second week of using this product. I was more than frustrated, and I decided to stop using Differin altogether. Since I have stopped using Differin, my skin has cleared dramatically with much less breakouts overall. As alternative, I decided to start using homemade skin treatment remedies, which led me to begin my journey in pursuing natural and homemade beauty. Keep in mind that this harmful product is quite expensive at up to $30, and it seems to do more harm than good to your skin! P.S. I recently had an opportunity to review an excellent natural acne treatment book Eat Away Your Acne. This book offers a natural treatment that can be used on its own to clear up the complexion or in conjunction with prescription acne medications to enhance the entire process. If you are looking for the top choice in acne treatments, it is highly important to start out by reading your ingredient labels! Many people don’t realize that you actually can treat acne naturally, and often times, using harmful chemical ingredients will only further irritate the surface of the skin and cause more acne breakouts. This is something that you want to avoid at all costs!
